Maia Wagler

Being a member of the Fine Arts Academy, I have seen my strengths progress and thrive through group projects, showcases, and all the work/time put behind it. I have learned and grown so much over the past four years not only at HHS, but in the Fine Arts Academy itself. I got to push myself and passion for art, music, and mostly dance through this program. The processes used to create strong and impactful artwork can be all over the place. I like the way the academy teaches us some of the basics of the work behind the final product, and its importance. There is a lot of time management needed for this class; it presents us with good practice for living independently in the future.

I am really excited to see how our group attacks this challenge. Our skills are being pushed to the limit, but it’s helping us grow at the same time. Our communication skills and resources to reachout have expanded as well. I am really looking forward to begin the construction process with this group of really determined people. Our group needs to step up and really do their part for this to feel like a successful process, and hopefully satisfying results. I haven’t been working with a group due to health reasons last semester and they have done so much so far. I am excited to see how smoothly all the details and final touches come together with another jumping back in.

I think using the history and art in Harrisonburg Schools is going to really add to the project and i’m excited to explore and research that more. I’m excited to work with professional artists in the local community because it is a great learning experience for my future careers and passions. I want to learn more about myself and how I do in the placement of this group and what my part is a little bit more. Living in Harrisonburg and going to HHS has brought so many memorable, core memories I wouldn’t have somewhere else. I hope this helps my professionalism as a dancer and as an adult! My social skills are ready for some new challenges and I hope to see them get better.
