Julia Lawton has known she wanted to be a dancer her whole life. She has studied many dance forms, including modern, jazz, tap, and composition, but her passion lies with ballet. She trains at Charlottesville Ballet Academy and Dance and Company. Julia is a teacher at Corriston Movement and Dance in Harrisonburg, and she is the founder of the Skyline Middle School Ballet Club. In addition to dance, Julia is heavily involved in other arts. She has studied violin for 10 years and is the principal viola in Shenandoah Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has also been involved in musical productions in both middle and high school. Next year, Julia will be attending Adelphi University to pursue a BFA in dance, and she is a member of the honors college. She hopes to eventually dance in a contemporary ballet company.
